Minakami is an ideal place for "onsen" (hot spa). It has six unique thermal springs along the riverside of the Tone river. "Minakami-Onsen" and its "Onsen Gai" or spa district is at the center of the Minakami Township ("Minakami Machi"). "Tanigawa-Onsen" is a tranquil spa situated at the foot of Mount Tanigawa. Autumn folliage and mountain torrrents are the best at "Unose-Onsen". "Yunitsu-Onsen" was first found by the famous "Oshu clan of Abe" in the 7th century, travelling from Northern Japan. If you want to enjoy a large open-air bath ("Rotemburo"), the perfect choice is "Takaragawa-Onsen". If you want to enjoy a trarditional mountain spa, it will be "Yunokawa-Onsen". They are all yours to enjoy; in spring, summer, autumn or winter, whatever the season is.. |
